CONNECTICUT FLAGConnnecticut was one of the original thirteen colonies. The flag shown here was introduced in 1895 and officially adopted in 1897. The arms have been Connecticut's arms since 1711. The three grapevines represent Hartford, Windsor, and Wethersfield, the original three settlements which comprised the colony. The motto, Qui Transtulit Sustinet, translates to "He who is transplanted still sustains."
